ADRIAN - Dorothy Winifred Cole, age 92, of Adrian died Jan. 23, 2019, at Lenawee Medical Care Facility surrounded by her family.
She was born Oct. 10, 1926, in Bluffton, Ohio, to Hollie and LaVonne (McGeorge) Baldwin. On Oct. 25, 1946, she married Robert Eugene Cole and he preceded her in death. Dorothy attended the Church of the Nazarene.
Dorothy worked at the Hurd Lock and Stubnitz-Greene factories during World War II. She retired from the Spiegel Catalog store in Adrian. Dorothy also worked at the bingo hall for 15 years and with the lunch program at Garfield School for many years. Dorothy's lifelong passion was her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her heart and joy. There's no denying that her grands were the people that she loved the most. She was their "Grandma Grape."
She is survived by one son, Stephen (Cherie) Cole of Adrian; one daughter, Barbara Caldwell Girard (Paul Girard) of Poinciana, Fla.; one brother, Bill Baldwin of Milan; one sister, Sandra (Larrie) Baker of Wolverine, Mich.; four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Bob, she was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Larry Baldwin, Robert Baldwin, Don Baldwin and Jim Baldwin; and a sister, Shirley Craft.
Visitation for Dorothy will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28, 2019, \at the Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2019, at the Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian, with the Rev. Larry Betz officiating. A private burial will be in Lenawee Hills Memorial Park, Adrian.
