Not sure what to say?

Although Doug had extensive training and knowledge, he never flaunted it, and was always eager to gently push me along in the right direction. I'm so glad to have worked along side of Doug for several years.

Bye for now my friend,

We both worked with Doug and he was always pleasant and his smile was contagious. Whenever he mentioned his wife and daughter, his face would light up. You could tell he loved them dearly. Gone to soon Doug. Sincere condolences to his family.

Jan and family,

So sorry to hear about your loss, my sincere condolences.

Jan, Jenna and family - It is difficult to convey the feelings we are experiencing but our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Doug is a person who will always be remembered with a smile.

Doug was a great Guard, and I am honoured to have been able to work with him and learn from him, he will be truly missed.

Jan, Jenna and family, know that Doug was an honourable man. He meant the world to many. To me he was a smile, a laugh, a support and a mentor. He holds a special place in my heart and always will. I know he has a special place in heaven and will always be looking down. Rest in peace, God speed Doug. You will be forever remembered.

Doug will be remembered in our family as a loving and caring guy with a whity sense of humour , a shared love of dogs, noticed so often to mention the small stuff along the way, and often had a good story to share. Rest in peace neighbour !!

A kinder man there never was. Doug, you were my friend, my coworker and my anchor when I lost my my father. I will always remember you. Rest In the arms of God you deserve it.

As many have mentioned here - Doug was a kind and generous man. He helped me adjust to working in a correctional facility with his insight and advice. Always co-operative and willing to assist - Doug made the best of any situation. The term "an officer and a gentleman" would aptly describe his contributions not only in the workplace but towards friends and family as well. For this of us who were fortunate enough to have worked with him - we will remember his laugh, his kindness...
