Not sure what to say?

Just learned of Mr Dixey's passing. A significant figure in my life as it was him who first piqued my interest in distance running, as he used to run lengthy runs every weekend up past our place (meaning those runs were at least 10km) during the early to mid 1980s. I was always struck by the determination and discipline that it took to do that so consistently, as I hadn't seen anyone else doing that until Mr Dixey. I always think of him whenever I'm out on a run, especially a longer one, even...

I have fond memories of Mr Dixie at West Gore School. A lovely man. Rest in peace. Condolences to the family

Sincerest sympathy to Dixey family on the passing of Doug. Our thoughts are with you all. Gary & Karen Heslip

To Daphne and family, I am so sorry to hear of Doug´s passing. Such a beautiful, kind man who always had a show garden to be admired in Pukerau. I know he will greatly missed. Big hugs to everyone at this sad time. Love Gail Soper, Maryborough QLD

My Deepest Sympathy to All Doug's Loving Family and Friends

So sorry to read Mr Dixey's death notice today. I clearly remember him coming in to see Mr Curry at the old Seddon Memorial Hospital Physiotherapy Department back in my day. Mr Dixey was a lovely gentleman to work with. Leonie Armstrong.

Our 4 children came through Tapanui Primary under Doug´s leadership and I worked with him on the Board of Trustees. He was a very active, insightful, fair and empathetic leader with a great servant heart and love for the children. School camps brought his extra "gifting" to light and we honor him and are thankful for his very positive guidance and Christian ethics. Our sincere condolences to Daphne and the family. Joy and Clive Lietze

Mr Dixey was my Principal during the 80´s and I have fond memories of him often running around but with a big smile. He invested in me especially when I was in Standard 4, giving me opportunities and I really grew in confidence at this time. I always felt he believed in me as a young boy. May the Lord bless you Mr Dixey.
