Not sure what to say?

I was sorry to hear of his passing. Though I did not know Doug well, I had a few cases with him over the years. He was always polite and a pleasure to work a case with. He was a good advocate for his client, without being disrespectful of the other party. He will be missed.

My condolences to the Grissinger family. I knew Doug at University school and will always remember his wit as part of the Monkey Island regulars. While I did not keep up with Doug over the years, all I can say is Wow to life well lived by an extraordinary man. He set the bar very high. His kind are few and far between. He will be missed, but not forgotten..Mike Kilroy

I was happy to reconnect with Doug at a high school reunion many years back and catch up on the years between. For about a year after that, we had a great correspondence where Doug and I discussed American history in the context of current politics! I remember those conversations with great fondness and appreciated Doug sharing his thoughtful perspective with me. Please accept my condolences.

I too attended grade school and high school with Doug and considered him a good friend. My deepest condolences to the Grissinger family. Doug will be missed by us all.

I am so shocked to learn about Doug's passing. Jon and I are saddened deeply. He was a great man, and loved his family. He always talked about his community, family and Susie when we met. The world was a better place because he was here. Our deepest condolences to Susie and family. -Nita Cole

I have only known Doug for a short while but was impressed by his love of life, family and quest for adventure. As an attorney he was so helpful and passionate about his craft. Though our contact was on a professional level I felt he really cared. The world has lost an exceptional gentleman. My heartfelt sympathies to his family and friends.

I was truly shocked and saddened when I read of Doug's death. I want to extend my sympathies to the family and also to the staff of Doug's office in North Port. I first got to know Doug when I was on the Board of Directors of the North Port Chamber of Commerce when Doug was President. I also had Doug help me with my recent home sale.

I met his family through Pack 36 in Englewood when his son was in elementary as I was den leader and now the Unit Commisioner of same unit. My sympathies to the family

I attended school with Doug from elementary through high school graduation. What a great guy ! Doug didn't say a lot in those years but he was always spot on, funny as hell and had a wonderful jaded way of looking at things that really made you think. I am sorry that I didn't see Doug much after we graduated but that Doug lived life to the fullest Ike 100% in character. So long and godspeed, old friend !
