Not sure what to say?

A great man and dear friend I got to know in my banking years in the Casa Linda area I hate that I didn´t know of his passing but I´ve thought of him so many times over the years and loved hearing his life as told by know one better than him. Opal and JP so sorry for your loss we will be reunited again in heaven one great day

Mr. Lord will be greatly missed.

To Opal Lord and family - I have know Doug for many years, and I was sad to see that he had passed away last year. He worked with my mother, Fern Hickman, for many years at the Air National Guard in Garland, TX, and Doug gave a beautiful memorial for my mother when she passed away in 2005. I wish I had known, as I would have attended his service. God bless Opal and his family. Regards, Susan Hickman Elmore

I FIRST MET DOUG WHEN HE WAS BOXING MANAGER FOR MY ROOM MATE TERRY DANIESL BACK IN 1968-1970 AT NORTH TEXAS UNIVERSITY IN DENTON. I LATER JOINED THE TEXAS AIR NATIONAL GUARD IN GARLAND BUT I DID NOT KNOW THT DOUG WAS IN THE UNIT. I DID NOT WORK DIRECTLY FOR DOUG, BUT HAD MANY ENJOYABLE CONVERSATIONS WITH HIM OVER THE NEXT SIX YEARS AND ENJOYED HIS FRIENDSHIP AND LEADERSHIP. IN THE UNIT. I TOLD TERRYS BROTHER, JEFF, ABOUT DOUGS SERVICES LAST SUNDAY AND HE TOLD TERRY ABOUT IT.. I KNOW THAT...

You will be missed.

I met Doug at the Villages of Lake Highlands where I volunteer. I would sit and visit with him. I loved his stories. My prayers go to the family at this difficult time.

My pilgrimage through this span of time has been one of much learning to understand love of my neighbor and fellow man and to help others by your example that reflected our Lord and Savior Emmanuel The Christ. I will miss you Pops, but look forward to seeing you again among the celestial heaven's beyond belief where you dwell now with those of all nations and family that have gone...
