Doy H. Gillihan

Doy H. Gillihan, 72, of Springdale died May 25, 2011 at Circle of Life Hospice. He was born March 21, 1939 at Twin Creek, Arkansas to Adrian G. and Ida Davis Gillihan. He was a member of the Springdale Elks Lodge. Doy was a builder/ developer in Springdale. He developed the Oaks Sub Division, Thornbury addition, and Moberly Professional Park. He was a pilot, hunter, fisherman and golfer. He enjoyed 30 years of lunches at Herman's with his "Lunch Bunch" guy friends. He liked to travel. But most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Don Gillihan of Olathe, Kansas He is survived by his wife Betty Kay Jones Gillihan of the home whom he married December 28, 1962. He is also survived by one son; Mark Andrew Gillihan of Springdale, two daughters; Shannon Elizabeth Gay of Springdale and Kasey Adrian Gillihan of Fayetteville, three brothers; Larry Gillihan, Gerald Gillihan and Chuck Gillihan, all of Kansas City, Missouri. Four grandchildren; Zared Jeffrey Gay, Rachel Elizabeth Gay, Andrew Robert Gillihan and Owen Austin Bell. Visitation will be Friday, May 27, 2011 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Sisco Funeral Chapel. Memorial services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale, with Lowell Grisham, Rector of St. Paul Episcopal Church in Fayetteville, officiating.
