Not sure what to say?

I had been close friends with David since early childhood. Tennis doubles partner, Debate team partner, SCUBA dive buddy and a little fishing everywhere. We shared adventures in many far-off places and games of billiards at each other's homes. David had a sense of adventure and inquiry that drew me to be a best friend of his throughout our lifetimes. The world and my place in it is a little bit less with his passing. I think of him often and those memories are among my best.

David, Ruth, and I were medical school classmates. I always enjoyed socializing with them at our class reunions. I'm sorry to hear that David has died. He will always be remembered fondly by the patients he cared for and his many friends and acquaintances. Truly a remarkable individual who has passed from this life to the next much too soon.

I am a colleague of David's at the University of Michigan. I am saddened at his death. He was a wonderful doctor with a store house of knowledge and a kind demeanor. He will be greatly missed.

I am a very old friend of David's. I have not had contact for many many years. As I read the condolences I am happy to hear he enjoyed marriage, children & grandchildren, his profession and travel. It is no surprise to read he enjoyed Love & respect all of these years. I knew him to be a good man who embraced life. My sympathies to all his family. May he Rest In Peace

We just learned of Dr. Zauel's passing last month. So sorry to hear this. We have went to him and his wife for many years. May he Rest In Peace. Prayers to Dr. Goodell and all of his family.

I just learned of Dr. Zauel's passing this past Monday, April 2 and am very saddened and shocked. Dr. Zauel has been my specialist since April 1981 and I've entrusted him for my health care and never sought out any other doctor even though I live in Florida. I will have to now.

During my yearly checkups, he would tell me about his family travels and the animals they would see.
The African trip was the most fascinating and the whales would've been good to hear this visit.

My mother and father, Jerry and Diana Price, were patients of Dr. Zauel and were so sorry to hear of this passing. He was excellent at his profession and was always very kind to them. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time.

Sorry to hear of Davids passing. He was a great friend, opthamologist, and soldier. We served together in the 337th General Hospital and I had a great deal of respect for him.
Colonel (Ret) John P Fleming DDS

I was so sorry to hear about Dr. Zauel's passing. I was a patient of his for several years in Greencastle (he prescribed my first pair of glasses). I also worked at PCH and transcribed his operative reports. Sending thoughts and prayers for your comfort and peace in your time of sorrow.
