Eggers Funeral Home - Boiling Springs Obituary

Dr. James Rennie Campbell, 76, went home to be with the Lord on November 22, 2021 with his family surrounding him. Dr. Campbell was the Founder & Former Director of Living Letters Prison Ministry. He was the Husband to Ellen Cartee Campbell for 55 Years. Rennie was the son of the late Clarence Booker “C.B..” Campbell and Rosa Lee Flynn Campbell. He was a member of Dependent Baptist Church, a Veteran of the US Army and a retired supervisor from Crown Cork and Seal.


In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a friend and son James R. Campbell Jr. “Rusty”


Left to cherish his memory in addition to his wife Ellen are one daughter, Tammy C. Pressley; two grandchildren, Jacob Pressley (Jordan) and Rebecca Pressley; two great-grandchildren, Lindsey Pressley and Charity Pressley;  who was his heart and the loves of his life; two sisters, Sandra Coble and Linda Thompson (Mike); one brother , Rodney Campbell; and a very special son Scott Robinson.


The family will receive friends on Friday, November 26, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Eggers Funeral Home of Boiling Springs. The funeral service will follow in the chapel at 2:00 PM officiated by Dr. Joe Geddes, Mr. Mickey Thompson and Mr. Jason Kersh. Interment will follow the service at Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens.


Serving as pallbearers will be Greg Flack, Danny Turner, Dan Houge,  Donnie Cox and James Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be John Fox, Mark Ball and Alan Griffin.


The family will be at the home.
