Not sure what to say?

RIP Coach LaRue Rooter Bus will live on forever in your honor.

The boys feared and respected you, Coach La Rue! We all loved you. ♡♡♡ Barbara Grasshoff (Hope) class of 69

I often think about him and only found out recently of his passing and words cannot express how very deeply saddened I am having found this out. Every time we passed one another in the halls or on the field, he would hold out his arms in the fashion of an Iron Cross on the rings. This was his way of saying, Kaufman, (as he would refer to everyone by their last name), I want you on the gymnastics team. I finally gave in and it was the best decision of my life. Coach LaRue was a fantastic coach and teacher, beloved by the gymnasts he coached and touched. As a member of his first Uni High Western League Champion team, I have many fond memories of Coach. He went out of his way for his guys. He once took a bunch of us to Lake Arrowhead and taught us all to waterski in one afternoon. We were proud to be on his team and to have him as our coach. I am grateful to have known him.

He formed me. He informed me. He reformed me. He there his keys once and almost deformed me.

As his eternal sweetheart and primary care-giver for so many years after he fell, Betty will most certainly feel an enormous void in the days and months to come. But if there is not already a football team in Heaven, Duane will most assuredly organize one, and I guarantee they will 'take the pennant'. Rest in Peace,...

Coach Larue was the most important influence on my life in my entire time at University High School --- there was no better man I have ever known.
