Prayers and hugs to Vern and Brenda, Katie and Laura and their families. I know it's a hard time for you all. Dody was a wonderful man and you have been blessed to have his influence in your lives for all these years. May God give you all strength and grace to make it through this transition to life without him.

Barbara and I extend our condolences to Vern and his family and to the extended Maxfield family on the quiet passing of a quiet man. I knew Dody from summer construction jobs with him all those years ago, and consider him a source of Maine wisdom and a hilarious dry wit. In particular, his perspective that, whatever today's problems may be, tomorrow will be another day was a good lesson for a teenager to learn.
