Not sure what to say?

My memory of Eddie Villella are warm ones. He was just a good kid, a good teammate on the football team at St. Stephen's Grade School in the mid-50s. Never in any trouble, rare for a kid from Hazelwood in those days. I think he was an altar boy, but I'm not sure. It was good and a source of community pride to see him become a doctor and a well-respected one at Mercy Hospital. He is missed by his friends and admirers. Sincerely, Jim O'Brien, Pittsburgh sports author and historian

Ed was so very special to me. We had a wonderful relationship. I will miss his smile and laughter. May he rest in peace.

On the 2nd Anniversary of Dr. V's Death:

Dr. V., was a beautiful loving blessing to all of us. A memory anniversary of his death prayer message for his family is that... "One day it may be that this pain will be eased and the dates will not have such hold on your memories as they have . Though I know the love you have for him then and now, and forever will be always and forever that will never end. This not only to honor the life they lived but for the love they so...

My deepest condolences to the family, may you find comfort and strength from the God of all comfort in this difficult time (Isiah 26:19)

I was sad to learn of the death of my CCHS friend & classmate Ed Villella. I was proud to learn of his successful career as a General & Vascular Surgeon at Mercy Hospital .I too have had a great career as a Career Navy Gen & Vasc Surgeon & later as a civilian Surgeon at Sacred Heart Hosp in Pensacola FL. CCHS has produced some very remarkable graduates

To the Villella family,

Our deepest sympathies to the Villella family.

Dr. Villella saved our son's life at Mercy Hospital in 1988. Our son was only seventeen and had been in a terrible car accident.
