Edwin Robert Lyon Jr.

Ed, was a friend, as he was to all that knew him. We were football teammates at Duke University, KAPPA ALPHA fraternity Brothers and Bar- B - Que Buddies. He has joined a lot of friends but has left us memories that are with us forever.

Reading Ed´s obituary brought back many precious memories. My husband and I grew up in Laurinburg, and proud of it! Eddie, as the Laurinburg people, called him, was a hero to many with his football career at Duke. He will be missed.

I never had a better friend growing up. Ed was both a mentor the brother I never had. From Sunday School on into the Boy Scouts then teenagers finding their way, Ed and I had a special bond. I don´t have enough space nor life left to share our many unforgettable experiences from our years in Laurinburg. Suffice it to say, there were never any dull moments when I was with Ed. God knows how much I will miss our telephone conversations. So long dear friend. I´ll see you soon.
