Effie Lou Hollingsworth Blair, 87, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2015. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Abilene Funeral Home Chapel of Hope, 3349 N. 12th Street, with Chaplin Scott Jimenez officiating. A memorial service with burial of cremains will be at a later date in Rochester, Texas.

Effie was born March 16, 1928, in Rule, Texas to the late, Carl and Lois Davidson. She lived in Lubbock for many years, coming to Abilene in 1993. Effie retired from Texas instruments after more than 20 years of service. She was a volunteer for Meals On Wheels and Food Bank of Abilene. Effie loved gardening, taking care of family, traveling and watching birds in her yard.

Survivors include two daughters, Lou Dean Crosson of Abilene and Peggy Lowrance and husband, Buddy of Sudan, Texas; son, Carroll Lee Hollingsworth and wife, Karen of Lago Vista , Texas; two sisters, Mary Hollingsworth of Rochester, Texas and Verna Mae Barbee of Cameron, Texas; brother, Joe Davidson and wife, Wynema of Portales, New Mexico; eight grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Effie was preceded in death by her first husband, Jack Hollingsworth; her second husband, Eugene Blair; three brothers, Dorwon Davidson, Lynn Davidson and Wayne Davidson; and one brother-in-law, Russell Hollingsworth.

A visitation will be from 6:00 p.m until 8:00 p.m. Friday at Abilene Funeral Home.
