Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home - Henderson Obituary

            Frances Elaine Goff Housley, 76, of Evansville, Indiana, formerly of Henderson, Kentucky, went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 13, 2021, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.

            Elaine was born on November 1, 1944, in Mobile, Alabama, to Donald and Glen (Sims) Goff. Her family moved to Mississippi, where Elaine graduated from Florence High School in 1962 and married Travis Housley of Florence, Mississippi, on September 4, 1965.

            Elaine attended Hinds Junior College as well as the University of Tennessee at Martin, relocating to Kentucky within one semester of completing her Bachelor of Science degree in Education.  She was a loving wife, an amazing mom, a wonderful Gramimi, and a loyal daughter, sister, and friend. She loved reading, writing, John Denver’s music, and hymns.  She earned her Master Gardener certification, and her favorite vacation spot was the Smoky Mountains.

            She is preceded in death by her parents.

            Elaine is survived by her husband of 56 years, Travis; daughter, Lisa and husband, Jeff Barber and grandchildren Elisabeth, Emily, Amanda, Ryan, and Eric; son, Josh and wife Jenny (King) Housley and grandchildren Jacob, Isaac, Noah, and Travis David; brother, Donnie Goff and wife, Linda; and sister, Carolyn and husband, Richard Wilkinson.

            Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home.  Elder Jeff Winfrey will officiate.  Entombment will be in Fairmont Cemetery Mausoleum.

            Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and until service time Friday at the funeral home.

            Contributions may be made to The Salvation Army in Henderson, Kentucky.

I’m so sorry to hear about Aunt Elaine. I have such fond memories of her visiting us in Florence and our big family get togethers. She was such a sweet, wonderful lady.
