He was my boss for10+ years. He was a dear friend and I was fortunate enough to become friends with his wife, Maxine, and his son, Kendall Wayne. He was a fair man and the parents thought the world of him. One story stands out in my mind: he had retired and I was working in the BISD Administration Building. He called to ask me if I could get a resume together for him for an organization he was applying for. Knowing him so well, I had saved his resume and was so happy to be of...

Mr. Moye is the reason we started the children at Sallie Curtis and not St. Anne's. We had paid our deposit and first semester for Katherine's first year. I happened to meet Mr. Moye and he encouraged me to come by for a tour of Curtis, talk to the teachers and so I did. The rest is Gavrelos-BISD history. I remember when Mr Moye and my mom (Margaret Stopher) worked on a curriculum committee for the school district. She had a great deal of respect for him, as she did for all truly intelligent people. If she were alive today, I am sure she would praise him still. But she is already on the other side, and I have every reason to believe she greeted him warmly when he arrived there.
May God grant his servant Elijah rest and peace, and may light-perpetual shine upon him.
