I, too, have good memories of Uncle Hassel and Aunt Ellen. Joyce, I was so sorry to hear of your loss and you all are in my thoughts and prayers.

I have great memories from my childhood and teens of attending Christmas parties at the home of Aunt Ellen, Uncle Hassel and Cousin Joyce. There was always music as most family members are musicians and/or singers. There were also Christmas parties at our family home on Wentworth Street in Reidsville. I extend condolences to Joyce, all family and friends.

Dear Joyce, I am so sorry Aunt Ellen has passed. My prayers are with you and your sons. I still remember the Christmas morning breakfasts Aunt Ellen prepared to celebrate Uncle Hassle´s birthday with extended family. The wonderful biscuits she made and the tender rabbit and squirrel I had never tried before was amazing. It was so interesting to hear all the stories of a bygone era and listening to my uncles playing guitars, fiddles, and mandolin and singing old time gospel and country music!...
