Not sure what to say?

Sr. Ellen will be missed. I never knew her name was Helen until I visited her in Worcester and no one could find Sr. Ellen. In her fun and "marvelous" way she told me that becoming a sister knocked the H out of her. Sr Ellen was a teacher at Notre Dame and we had great fun with her. My mom, Alice Shea Rodgers, was pals with Sr. Thomasine and Sr. Ellen and I know they are doing a reel in the heavens now!

My condolences to Sr. Ellen's family as she journeys to a better place. She was my teacher at Notre Dame in Springfield (1977). I remember her as being a serious teacher who always inspired you to work hard. My parents often brought her and the other Sisters fruit baskets on Thanksgiving. Hopefully she will see John O'Sullivan and Eileen O'Connor-O'Sullivan for Thanksgiving in heaven in 2011. May she rest in peace.

I was a graduate of Cathedral High, did not have Sr Ellen but I can recall her beautiful smile in the history hall! Sr Ellen is entering God's Heavenly Kingdom during Advent! My prayers are with her family and especially with the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur!

Thank you, aunt, for the word "marvelous", a word you used so often and so sincerely it became part of my own vocabulary. My grandkids sometimes mimic me saying "marvelous", but that's okay because it's not just a word, it's an outlook. And it's a legacy. So thank you. Your niece Kathy

Sister Ellen provided great encouragement and expertise when I entered the American Legion Oratorical Contest while at Cathedral. She was a real blessing to all her students. I'm thankful I had the chance to tell her that in person during a brief visit with her a few years back. My sincere condolences to her family.
