Not sure what to say?

Ellie- you helped to train me as a photographer on the Chattooga River in the mid 90s where, in my mind, you set the bar for female athleticism and more importantly feminism. I remember you as big-hearted, ready to laugh, bold in your endevours, and responsive to anyone and everyone in need. Surprisingly, i never knew you were nearly 20 years older than me-- you were THAT good being young in heart and in body. I believe with all my heart that whatever has been taken from you in this life will...

I just learned of Ellie's passing. I am deeply saddened. See was a wonderful loving gregarious person who enlivened the lives of those she touched. RIP Ellie

We just learned of Ellie's passing. And just cannot believe it. We always found her to be the vivacious and gracious owner of Doc Chey's - our favorite restaurant in Asheville. Ellie, a dynamic, ebullient woman whose infectious spirit touched our lives, embodied the "Peace, Love and Noodles" motto on everyone's T shirt at Doc Chey's.

Ellie and Brook, always a dynamic couple, embody the commitment of those who love each other and live the life they love. We also...

Dearest Ellen,
I cannot believe you are gone! I was thinking just yesterday of all of our adventures together in our 20's...From the minute you rented me your place so that you could spend a semester at Project USE to my following in your footsteps and the fast friends we became. My heart aches for your family as I know they will miss your shining light....as do I. Rest with the angels my dear and know that you are loved around the world. Much love, Mari C Sullivan

My condolences to the family.

Dear Ellen,
May you Rest In Peace now with the angels. May your memories be the comfort your family will need. Know you were loved by many and will be missed by many more. I loved you as my friend and will never ever forgot about you. ❤❤

My sister El bravely battled ovarian cancer for 5 1/2 years. For most of that time she lived her life to the fullest, the way she wanted to live her life. It was not unusual for her to have a treatment and then go to CrossFit, a spin class or her beloved rowing club. Complaining was not part of her amazing character and few knew the journey she was on until it was nearing the end.
El was blessed to have Brook, the most supportive compassionate and caring partner that anyone could ask...

Ellie had a hearty laugh that I will never forget. She was always real and kind and encouraging when I was fighting cancer. Always pushing me to Get Out and Run! Ellie once surprised us with warm and yummy Doc Cheys after we had been traveling all day with our sick son. People like her just sink into your heart forever.
