Eloise Seybert, a long-time resident of Anderson, Indiana passed away at 11:00 A.M. on March 19, 2005 at Indianapolis, IN, one month before her 94th birthday. She was born in Pendleton, IN on April 23, 1911, the daughter of C.A.E. and Vieune (Prigg) Rinker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Seybert, and her five brothers and sisters. She taught for 42 years in the Anderson school system, retiring in 1973. Eloise was instrumental in starting the elementary school libraries here. She and Leo were high school sweethearts and were happily married for over 50 years. They had two daughters, Nancy Seybert and Connie Mitchell. There were many happy hours at the piano as a family because of our parents’ love for music. Her older daughter, Nancy, is retired after traveling internationally with the Inner Peace Movement. Her daughter, Connie, followed in her mother’s footsteps and is now a library media specialist and teacher at Carmel High School. Her son-in-law, Dr. Larry Mitchell, is a veterinarian in Indianapolis. Her granddaughter Jennifer Mitchell assists her father in his veterinary clinic, and grandson Jeremy Mitchell is in the Marines, stationed in Japan. She is also survived by her care givers, Beth Featheringill, Cathy Oberholtzer and their circle of many friends who have loved and cared for her for over ten years.

Eloise was an active member of the Central Christian Church in Anderson, Indiana. She was a well-known citizen in the community and a beloved teacher. Eloise and Leo owned a neighborhood drug store and restaurant in the 1940's. She was always pouring out love to her children, her students, her family and friends and will always be remembered by those who knew her. It was rewarding to be a member of her family. She was loved by many surviving nieces and nephews. We know she will dwell in the house of God with our father for eternity. We’ll miss her but now know she is free and at peace.

Services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Rose officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park.

Friends may call from 5-8 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Community Home Health Service Hospice or Anderson Public Library Children’s Department.

Not sure what to say?

I am the daughter of Lila Coates. Eloise always treated us kids (Jacquie, Lynn, and Gerrie) nicely when Mom worked for her. She would always send us cookies and special things. She was a special lady and I am glad to have known her.

We love you Weezie and we will miss you. Thank you for all your love and for the privilege of caring for you. You were a gracious lady and you will always be in our hearts.
Love, Beth and Austin

Offering our deepest condolences during this difficult time.
