Emma Doyle Blanchard

Emma Doyle Blanchard entered into eternal rest surrounded by family and loved ones on Tuesday, February 24, 2015. Beloved wife of 62 years to the late Skene Blanchard; loving mother of the late Ronald Blanchard. Mother-in-law to Barbara Blanchard. Survived by two grandchildren Ryan Blanchard and Danielle Blanchard Kastner, wife of Ralph Kastner, Jr. with three great-grandchildren, Logan, Reed, and Bennett Kastner. She was 98 years old, daughter of the late John Patrick Doyle and the late Harriet Heuer Doyle. She was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Slidell, LA. She was the surviving 'family matriarch' who was preceded in death by her twin sister, Doris, plus seven sisters and three brothers. She will be remembered by numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express sincere thanks to the staff/caregivers at Slidell Live Oak Village and St. Joseph Hospice. A special thanks is also extended to Joel Ferguson, a loving family friend who extended care and support. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. in New Orleans, on Monday, March 2, 2015 at 12:00 Noon. Interment will follow in McDonoghville Cemetery, Gretna, LA. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association and the American Cancer Society.
