Emma Lee Starr was born August 3, 1982 in Fort Worth, TX to Ann Rivers and the late Doug Rivers. A lifelong Tarrant County resident, Emma Lee left us to be with the Lord March 4, 2016.
Emma Lee attended Trinity High School, the Court Reporting Institute of Dallas and Paul Mitchell School of Dallas. Her passion was cosmetology and she loved working as a free-lance makeup artist with clientele that included the Dallas Stars Ice Girls.
Emma Lee was a compassionate woman, she always wanted to put her needs in front of everyone else’s. She was happy when everyone else was happy. Her smile could light up the room and melt your heart. She had a gift for accepting anyone into her heart regardless of their misgivings or their problems, she simply loved to help others.
She is survived by her son, Ryan Starr, her mother, Ann Rivers, her brothers Reed Rivers and Will Rivers, her step father Chris Snyder, her Grandmother Margaret Shuffield, her fiancé Chris Zamora and a large loving family of aunts, uncles, cousins and her niece, Audrey and nephew, Nolan. Emma Lee was preceded in death by her father, Doug Rivers, her grandfather W.M. Shuffield, and her grandmother Charlene Rivers.

While I didn't know Emma Lee very well personally, I was immediately taken by the first time I met her and the light & radiance she emitted to those she came in contact with at Ann's cafe restaurant at Parker College. She had a 10,000 watt smile that could light a room and make you feel a lot better about your day, even in a brief encounter picking up a sandwich or salad from her for lunch. She obviously got that from Ann and the apple didn't fall far from the tree in that regard. I am so sorry to learn of her passing, and pray for peace and comfort for the entire family.

EmmaLee and I have been friends since high school. She was one of those friends I only saw or talked to 2 or 3 times a year but I always enjoyed talking to her. She was such a sweet soul. My prayers are with her family and friends in this very difficult time. God Bless.
