Not sure what to say?

Alexis, I went to Basic Training with your dad in 2008, and I remember him being one of the "older guys." With that he was like a big brother to many, and he was well liked. I can recall him talking about you and your brother, and his desire to complete training to get back home to his family. While I was deployed to Iraq in 2009 another soldier I knew from training informed me of your father's death. Since that day I find myself thinking of your dad. Especially, around Memorial Day. Stay...

I am not sure who will read this but I am 18 almost 19 now and I just wanted to relay the message that I appreciate all of the love that is shown in the comments of my father's obituary. It is amazing that even last year, my father's story is still touching hearts of people everywhere. I have grown into a fine young adult and I move forward continuing the great legacy of who my father was.

On October 23, 2021, I was at a "wear blue: run to remember...for the fallen, for the fighting, for the families" monthly event held in Lakeville, Minnesota. Before the run we form a circle and read the name provided to us of a military person (hero) who had died on that day while serving our country. Today I found his obituary and learned more about him. My heart goes out to Eric´s loved ones as I know he continues to be missed. He gave all for our country, and I wanted you to know that...

I’m British & I came across Eric’s story by accident. My father was lifelong Royal Navy, although he didn’t die in combat I lived in fear for his life. The worst happened to your man, your father but please remember there are people from all over the globe who send you love and strength for all time.

I did not know Eric but have been fortunate to know many brave soldiers who have served this great country. The loss of every soldier, sailor, airmen and Marine should always remind us that we are fortunate to live in a country where free men and women voluntarily serve and protect us each and every day. Without them the world wouldn't be a very good place. To the families of these brave people thank you for your service too. When they go off to war it is you who suffer. God Bless you all.

Thank you for your service. Your beautiful children and wife will always remember the hero there husband and father was. May god always be with you.

Thank you for your service. I know your Wife, children will always cherish the memories and know that their Father was a hero and gave his life for America so that we all can be safe.
