Eric “Smiley” Joseph McCormick, Sr. departed this life on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at the age of 61. He was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Eric was a faithful member of Providence Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon.   He was a graduate of John McDonogh High School and was employed for over 20 years as a Sheet Metal Mechanic with Pellerin Milnor Corporation. Smiley, as he is affectionately known to family and friends, was an avid Saints fan who loved attending games. Devoted husband of 25 years to Anita McCormick.  Loving father of Kenosha McCormick, Twilean Patterson, and the late Eric McCormick, Jr., and Glynn McCormick. Stepfather of Erica Williams and Wayne Gulley, Jr. Grandfather of Eriyel McCormick, Alviyanna Buggage, Jermyrie Stovall, Glynn McCormick, Glyndon McCormick, Syx Cooper, Lucas Patterson, Quinton Johnson, Jr., Joshua Gulley, Natatlie Williams, and Ann Marie Williams.  Son of the late Lawrence and Gloria McCormick. Brother of Zinda Montreal-Nelson, Eteria McCormick, Lawrence (Beryl) McCormick, and the late Alvin (Vivian) Montreal. Eric is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 3 godchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Providence Missionary Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Providence Missionary Baptist Church, 2311 7th St. New Orleans, LA on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at 11:00a.m.  Pastor Lawrence St. Cyre, Sr., officiating Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time.  Interment: Mt.
