ERNA ANDERSON Funeral services celebrating the life of Erna I. Anderson, age 91, of Lester Prairie were held on Friday, January 5, 2007 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie. Officiating was Rev. Eric Nelson. The organist was Marsha Christenson and the soloist was Chuck Thiel who sang “Softly And Tenderly”. The congregational hymns were “Just As I Am” and “What A Friend We Have In Jesus”. Serving as casket bearers were Jeremy Miller, Neal Brouhard, Andrew Anderson, Joseph Miller, Romeo Payette and Jim Bugner. Interment was in the St. Paul’s Cemetery in Lester Prairie. Visitation was held on Thursday evening at the Paul-McBride Funeral Chapel in Lester Prairie. Erna Ida Anderson was born the daughter of John and Elsie (Pagel) Bugner on July 15, 1915 in Bath, South Dakota. Erna was united in marriage to Arnim Anderson on June 3, 1943. The couple made their home in various places before settling in Lester Prairie in 1967. Erna worked at the Lester Prairie Elementary School from 1968-1985 when she retired. She was a member of the St. Paul’s LWML in Lester Prairie and attended church there regularly with a strong faith. Erna enjoyed gardening, crocheting, playing cards, reading, cooking and baking. She loved spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren. Erna Anderson entered her eternal rest at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale at the age of 91 years, 5 months and 18 days. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant son, grandson: Jeffrey Miller and sister: Mildred Tadlock. Erna is survived by her children: Kenneth Anderson (wife: Brenda) of Cedar Falls, IA, Judith Miller (husband: Joseph) of Pierz, MN, Robert Anderson (wife: Gail) of Lester Prairie, Jon Anderson (wife: Margaret) of Cold Spring, MN and LaVeta Payette (husband: Romeo) of Brooklyn Park, MN; grandchildren: Jeremy Miller, Jennifer Brouhard (husband: Neal), Jocelyn Anderson, Andrew Anderson, Sean Payette and Karl Payette; great granddaughters: Alyse and Gwen Brouhard; sister: Gertrude Anderson of Aberdeen, SD; brother: Derald Bugner (wife: Bonnie) of Reeder, ND; sister-in-law: Dorothy Johnson of Kalispell, MT; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Arrangements were with the Paul-McBride Funeral Chapel in Lester Prairie.
