To this day so many years later "Coach Lap" is remembered with great respect. He was an honorable, strong black man who was a very positive role model for many of us up and coming young black men. On the football field he taught us honor, responsibility, teamwork and respect. He set the example, and demanded the best from us in our families, school and in the community. These are lessons which have served us well into manhood. May your spirit rest in peace Coach. Your work was not in vain. You are not forgotten. May God bless and keep the Dunlap family. Respectfully,
Bernice Jones

Coach Dunlap was a major influence in my life. Taught me the meaning of being responsible and gave me an opportunity to display my athletic skills, which resulted in me being able to further my education. He was a good teacher and a great man. My condolences to the family. Westwood High Class of 1977.
