BOW – Ernest L. Guimond, 77, of Knox Road, died Thursday, Feb. 11, 2016, at the Concord Hospital. He was born in Concord, son of the late Leon T. and Eva J. (Plourd) Guimond. He was a graduate of St. John's High School. Ernest was a contractor for nearly 50 years, 34 years as owner/operator of his own company, Guimond Construction.

He was an active member of Holy Rosary Parish in Hooksett, and member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed gardening and was well known by family and friends for sharing what he grew. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and ice fishing, which he often did with his children. Mostly he enjoyed spending time with his family, and took special joy in being around his grandchildren

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carlene Guimond; three sons, Thomas Guimond of New York, Richard Guimond of Concord and Daniel Guimond of Bow; two daughters, Pamela Smith of Warner and Denise Guimond of Concord; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, three sisters, Rita Martel and her husband, Larry, Terry Demain and her husband, Ken and Estelle Bailey and her husband, Charles, one brother, Albert Guimond and his wife, Judy.

He was predeceased by a sister, Doris Guimond, and a brother, Arthur Guimond.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, Feb. 19th, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Waters Funeral Home, 50 South Main St., Concord.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Feb., 20th, at 10 a.m. at Holy Rosary Parish, 21 Main St., Hooksett.

Burial will be held in the spring at Holy Rosary Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff at Concord Hospital on 4 east and Dr. Falk for their loving care.

Pam, Denise, Tom and the Guimond family, my heartfelt condolences go out to you all. Peace to you during this difficult and sorrowful time.
