My heart goes out to the family for your loss. May the God of all comfort be with you. My condolences to all.

I loved my grandfather very much!! When I was a child we would ride up to NY and I'd jump out barefoot with no jacket in winter just to get me a hug. I loved dancing with him to bluegrass. My sister and I would sleep in the living room and my grandpa would try to not wake us but I'd hear the creek in the floor and jumped up to get my hot cocoa while he had his coffee and told me stories. Ernie was the youngest of the Harley family, Kathryn was his older sister and Charles (Chuck) was his older brother. All went through the adversity of the depression era. Life seperated them for many years and when they got together it was entertaining.

The early years after his service in Korea were the times where events became stories that were repeated for many years.

Ernie told stories with so much humor and in a low voice all in earshot would intently listen. Not...
