Not sure what to say?

I was a bartender on weekends at the Galleria. Pleople would get testy because I egnored him when Ernie´s did a solo. Morris Nanton came in one night and sat at the piano while Ernie did a stand up of See see Rider and blew the room away!

I´m. So sorr, I just found ou. I loved him. Rudy Martins

I think of Ernie from time to time, especially when I hear a jazz arrangement of a popular song on the piano. He played in the cocktail lounge of the Hyatt New Brunswick while I worked my way through graduate school as a waiter. I could listen to him all night. Always a gentleman and a natural leader, he made time to chat and encouraged me to stick with my studies.

I am starting a music career, which really Ernie was responsible for, at the ripe age of (in my 50's). He inspired me to sing and pushed me out in front because he heard something in my voice. To know that such a legendary, humble man is now at rest, breaks my heart. I know his family must miss him every day. I just wanted to extend belated condolences to his dear family!

hard to believe it's been a whole year since you left us. I still hear that voice Singing all those wonderful tunes... Miss you much cousin !!!!

To the man with that special sparkle in his eye, a quick smile and an absolute joy to his soul, may God bless you and all of your loved ones. As your student and a member of your choir in Sayreville Jr.High, I "Thank you" for sharing of yourself. You will remain in my heart forever. PEACE LOVE & HAPPINESS ALWAYS. Susan. You live on in your music & in our memories

I was so sad yesterday when a former student of mine and Ernie's sent me the notice of his death. Although I have not seen Ernie since I left NJ for Los Angeles about 40 years ago, I took with me an unbelievable amount of knowledge and passion from him that made me the best teacher I could be ...he inspired me so! I have kept in my jewelry box a card that he gave me when he appeared on Broadway in Piano Man. Ernie, you would be so proud of me; some of my music is being played at...

Dear Donna just heard about Ernie's passing today and I was stunned. Please know you have my deepest sympathy. We surely will miss the musical genius that he was.

Mr. Scott affectionally known as Scotty was a inspiration to all who loved to sing and loved music in general. I couldn't wait to get to New Brunswick High School to sing for Ernest Scott after hearing the Vocal Dynamics sing at Lord Stirling School. I loved the conversations we've had reminiscing about the songs we sang and how we used to win singing contest against other high school choirs all over the North East. I loved this great man and he will truly be missed.
