Erie will be deeply missed.
Although I only worked with him briefly at ADP, I can still remember how jovial and charismatic he was.
He always managed to get you to laugh regardless of the situation.

I was a co-worker of Ernie's at Ex-Cell-O and never was there a time he couldn't think of a joke or something to brighten our day. Even though I lost track of him over the years, I always regarded him a good friend.
I am very sorry for your loss.

Recently, the Harry J Will Funeral Home staff was gathered together to recognize their exemplary service to others. Service of which, Ernie was most certainly a significant contributor. In many circumstances, Ernie would be the first person that anyone met as they arrived for a funeral and it was his kindness which greeted them and marked their first impression.
That gathering will now be forever remembered in my mind as the last opportunity that I and many others who worked with Ernie had the chance to be with him and for that I will always be grateful.
It was an honor to stand beside Ernie in work and in life, and with God's grace we will all stand beside him again. I have no doubt that Ernie will be one of the first to greet us and his kindness will be one of our first impressions.

Charlotte and family,
As a co-worker at ADP we shared many fond memories with Ernie – from working with him on the job to the golf league and scrambles over the years. Ernie used say “Never get good at a bad job”. Advice was always free. I lost touch with Ernie over the last 10 years however the memories will always be there. Please accept our heartfelt condolences on the loss of your loved one.
Sincerely,
Marilyn Coloske and Don Kennedy

To the Benyo family:
I have not talked or had contact with Ernie for about fifty years. I met Ernie in my first job at National Bank of Detroit. Ernie and I were around seven teen back then. We both worked in the same department called Breakdown and had more fun than the bosses would like us to have. I think we made about $1.25 and hour then, but the memories are worth gold to me now.
My working friendship lasted until I left for Chrysler in 1963 but I would always think of Ernie when I drove to play golf at various Livonia courses or saw something in the papers about Bentley High school.
After reading the guest book I am gratified that Ernie's life was rich in family and friends and leaves a loving legacy. What more can one ask ? He was one fun "dud' with me and the high school girls at NBD.
Warmest Regards, Gerald Fazekas
P.S. Ernie and I shared a quite few coney dogs on our NBD lunch hour at American Coney Island. The next time I go there I will symbolically order Ernie a "1 up"

The loss of your father, no matter how old you are, changes your life forever. Your dad is your protector who keeps you safe and secure. You never really get over the loss, you learn to live with the loss and know he is never far from your thoughts. Last night (2/11/14), I lost someone special (my dad). He was a faithful father to my mother and devoted dad to me and my sister. When I was little, it was my dad who was my coach and taught me how to play baseball and hockey. When growing up, he was always there for me when I needed advice. After I was married and purchased a house, he was always available to help with home improvement projects. Basically, it was my dad who taught me about life, and I believe I'm the person I am today because of him.
Here is a poem in memory of my dad (RIP), who I love and will miss dearly.
My Dad
Author: Unknown
If I could write a story
It would be the greatest ever told
Of a kind and loving father
Who had a heart of gold
If could write a million pages
But still be unable to say, just how
Much I love and miss him
Every single day
I will remember all he taught me
I'm hurt but won't be sad
‘coz he'll send me down the answers
And he'll always be MY DAD

Ernie is no longer with us but his wisdom remains.
On being skeptical of something you said:
-You kid your friends, I'll kid mine but let's not kid each other.
On the workplace:
-Never get good at a crappy job.
On being asked what time it was:
-About time you get a watch.
On golf:
-The woods are full of long hitters.
-A shot looked up on is not worth seeing.

My deep sympathies to the Benyo and Bullock families. I just learned of Ernie`s passing. He was a great man, filled with humor and spirit. I always looked forward to working funerals with him because I knew I'd have a smile on my face the whole time. He was such a funny man even bereaved families would laugh at his jokes on the morning of their loved one`s funeral. He was one of a kind.

Charlotte and Ernie attended our Fat Tuesday gourmet dinner. This dinner was attended by friends from ADP and their spouses. There were kids serving the meal and it was Ernie's idea that everyone tip the kids. He made this dinner lively and fun. Ernie was thoughtful to adults and kids alike. Our hearts and prayers go out to Charlotte and the rest of his family.

Ernie was one of the most encouraging men I ever had the privilege of knowing!
His love for His Savior and others radiated!
I will miss Ernie for so many reasons ... his firm handshake at church or at the funeral home ... his sense of humor ... his true & sincere concern for others.
A couple of days ago ... I know he heard those words that we all want to hear, "Well done ... well done My good and faithful servant ... well done!"
Heaven just gained an amazing 'greeter'!
Thank you Ernie for making a difference in my life and the life of my family ... we love you!

Kevin and Tracey,
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. The first time I met your dad was at a funeral for my sister-in-law's (Carol Graziotti) husband. At that point I had only been a Christian for about 8 years. He was working at the other funeral home in Wayne. There was another viewing going on across the hall. When we were talking to your dad he said something that has always stayed in my thoughts when I hear of someone passing. He glanced over towards the other room and he said, "you can always tell when the room is full of people who are believers and the ones who aren't."
Praise God we are able to mourn and rejoice because of our relationship with Him.

Mrs. Benyo, Chris, Tracey, Kevin, Matt, Andrew, Emily, Amanda, Alex, and Sarah,
We are so sorry for your loss, I know what it is to lose a father, and all of you were there for me and my family 4 years ago. I have known the Benyo's since we were babies, Tracey is my one Tried and True Friend, we have been through thick and thin. MR. BENYO was a terrific man and a great father, Husband, Grandfather, and Friend. He was always nice to me and treated me like family. and when my father had passed Mr. Benyo was right there for our family. I wish I could be there, but as it was told to me by Tracey, Dad would want you to play in the tournament and get your best score. So Ernie this weekend is for you. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. Love always Sue and Sean Elamon

Ernie had the greatest sense of humor, never had a bad word to say about anyone, and Ernie always asked me about my kids...he was genuinely interested in what they were doing...he was a good friend and co-worker, I can only imagine what a great husband, father and grandfather he was. He will be missed by all of us at Harry Will, it won't be the same without his smiling eyes and his jokes...see you someday in the future Ernie.
