My thoughts and condolences go out to the whole Ashenbrenner family. I had known Grandpa Ashenbrenner for most of my life and know what a wonderful man he was. He will be very missed.

As the years float by I cherish the soft memories more and more and one such was meeting the senior Ashenbrenners.
This was the setting: my father trained show horses near Aloha and was out of town with the top show string while I stayed home and cleaned stalls and exercised the twenty five up and comers.
I would ride my bicycle to Aloha to lunch at Nancy Carol's cafe and dine on their special chicken fried steak. On this occasion I rode back on Alexander Street and came to...

Bonnie, Rick and Lila Lynn and I have a very special place in our hearts we keep just for Erv. We well miss him terribly.

I never knew Mr. Ashenbrenner but his daughter, Lila, has played a pivotal role in our life, unbeknownst to her, and I felt moved to share this. She once bought a stereo (or something) from my husband at Magnolia HiFi. He noted her name at the time since I was pregnant and we were searching for the perfect name. When our daughter was born a short time later we named her Lila, and we have often told the story of where the inspiration for the name came from. So in some small way I feel...
