Not sure what to say?

I was so fortunate to have Esther be a part of my life during our years together at Waddell. She is an inspiration to us all. Her memory and legacy of excellence in education will go on. Esther was a gifted teacher, a beautiful person, and a role model for many. Lots of love to her family!

Esther will be greatly missed as a very bright spot in our outdoor adventure group, "Friends of Jay." Such a sweet, fun, adventurous person! I feel very blessed to have known her and spent fun times with her. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Nathan, Hudson, Jeni and Rick.

Our deepest sympathy to Rick, Nathan, Hudson and the entire family... including dear Phyllis.

And I'm also sending to you today, thoughts... of how many children, and their families, and their own children present and to come... have been and will be impacted by the caring and instruction of "Mrs. Heatley".

Esther was not MY school teacher (we're almost of same age) – but I wish she had been. Fortunately, she was one of my Life School teachers, who taught me...

I love the part, "a gardener of souls." Esther is, and always has been, a beautiful soul.

Halloween, 2009

Our daughter was so lucky to have Mrs. Heatley as her first grade teacher in 2009 before she retired. She was an amazing teacher, and an even better person. My daughter kept every note that Mrs. Heatley wrote her and has pulled them out frequently over the last three years. We will miss her.

Esther was a great teacher, a funny story teller and had excellent taste in coffee. Will miss her smile and her sweet and caring personality.

My love and prayers are with you all. Esther was a very important and caring part of my frowning up in Hickory. I will truly miss her. Love, Allen Bryant Hayes. cousin.

Esther was such an inspiration and such an amazing teacher. She will always hold a special place in the hearts of our family.
