Not sure what to say?

My condolences at this late date to Mr. Ballock's family. Gene was my principal at Inland Valley Intermediate when I attended from '67 to '69. Fair minded and with this incredibly dry wit. My favorite Mr. Ballock story was the one he told us all on a rainy day and it had to do with a bear. At the end, with all of us on the edge of our seats, he related how the bear was pulling his leg so hard, but not as hard as he was pulling ours. What a great punch line. I am sorry to hear that he...

I have great memories when I was at Stanley (1973ish) and he was principal. He was a fair principal and had the respect of the students. I remember hoim as a kind man. Condolences to his family.

I worked for Gene Ballock at Inland Valley Intermediate in Orinda from 1963 to 1969. Part of that time we drove in to work together. We joked, we commiserated, we developed a strong friendship that lasted 42 years.
Much has been written about Gene’s exemplary character by friends and former teachers and students. All of it is true. I want to emphasize one particular attribute. Gene wasn’t a man that put himself above others. He enjoyed people regardless of age. Good humor...

May you all be filled with peace and comfort in the days ahead, as you mourn the loss of this unique man of faith and integrity. So many of us have been blessed by knowing the amazing "Mr. Ballock" in all his various roles. Thank you for sharing him with us. May he rest now in peace and joy.

Mr. Ballock was like an uncle to me...always full of laughter, open arms for a hug, and inquiring about my life (even as a CHILD!) His wife Lois was an RN I looked up to and wanted to emulate as a child...they were a strong in-love couple that were as solid an a mighty oak tree, and I always felt secure around them. He has left a legacy of solid sweet grown kids that I admire greatly. Looks like the apple don't fall too far from the Ballock tree! We KNOW Eugene's in heaven, and that's...

Mr. Bullock was a great principal and set a great example for the students of Las Lomas High. He will always be remembered at LL.

Gene was an awesome person and family man. He was so much fun to be around and such a joy to talk to. He had this amazing energy and light about him. I will always remember him this way. So vibrant with love and care...

For Gene, life had two huge priorities; GOD and Family,. We have such fond memories of Gene at Christmas and Birthday celebrations! He always showed deep concern and compassion for others. Mom and I were thrilled when he requested that we to come to the hospital to sing a hymn for him, just a few months ago. Love, Karin and Alyce (extended family) formerly of Folsom, CA

My brother Gene, was my rock and foundation, he was there for me during the many up and downs of my life. He was always ready to give advice when I asked him and he was always ready to be a shoulder that I leaned on just because. I will always remember his smile and sense of love and compassion he had for our family. He even let me buy his old VW bug when I didn't have any money and he let me have it for low blue book value. Only brothers would do things like that for you.
