EVELYN JUNE SHUTT Graveside services for lifelong Dove Creek resident Evelyn June Shutt will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 4 at Dove Creek Cemetery. Visitation has been scheduled for Friday afternoon from 4 to 6 p.m. at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Evelyn was born April 7, 1933 in Joplin, Missouri the daughter of John Sylvester and Mertie Lee (Swanger) Estes. She passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Southwest Memorial Hospital at the age of 83. Evelyn married Robert Carlos Shutt on March 28, 1950 in Northdale, Colo. The couple shared 63 years of marriage. In her free time, Evelyn enjoyed crocheting and knitting. She loved to spend time working in her garden and canning. Evelyn had a deep respect and love for nature. Surviving Evelyn are her children, Emil Shutt (Kathy) of Dove Creek, Ann Berry (J.R.) of Cortez, and Donald Shutt (Diane) of Yellow Jacket; and by seven grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, of 63 years, Robert Shutt; by her son, Ivan Shutt; and by her siblings, Frank Estes, Dwayne Estes, Robert Estes, and Clara Mae Estes. Memorial contributions may be made in Evelyn Shutt's name to Adobe Animal Hospital.
