Not sure what to say?

I'm sad to hear about this. I knew Paul from grade school and high school, we were in the same sixth grade class together. Paul was one of the kindest and funniest guys I've known (he was a total goofball!) I haven't seen him for years but will always remember how creative and kind he was. I'm glad he found his calling and was successful at it.

Paul the force will be with you, always.

I knew Paul in the 1990s when he and I worked at the same post production facility. He was sweet and kind and very committed to the craft of film making which I greatly admired. His passing is a shock, and I am filled with sadness, yet grateful for the warm memories I will always carry. Sincerest condolences to all those who loved him.

For a life cut short too soon I am sad, for the hearts he touched I am grateful, for the angel watching over us from heaven I celebrate. Paul Benz you will be missed on this earth! My thoughts and prayers are with your family, especially your son. (Paul was the best man at our wedding & a fraternity brother with Kurt) -Kurt & Becky Saterbak, Wisconsin.

Paul was my fraternity brother at SMU as well as a fellow film major. No one I knew had more passion for film making than he did or deserved their success more. It was always such a pleasure to see his credit at the end of a film, knowing how much he enjoyed his work. Paul was to put it simply a class act. My deepest sympathies to his family.

Paul was a very dear friend in high school. Although we graduated and went our separate ways 27 years ago, I have fond memories of him and mourn his loss. My prayers are with Mrs. Benz, David and Nikki at this time.

Dear Benz Family,
My name is Elizabeth Mitchell and I was a friend of Paul's in high school.
His great sense of humor and he gentle soul will be greatly missed. Please accept my most heartfelt condoleces.
