Fern Marie Ogea

Fern Reed Ogea, 89, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 2, 2017 in a local center surrounded by her family. She was a resident of Sulphur since 1948. She grew up in Acadia parish and was a descendant of a pioneer family. She loved cooking, baking, and gardening. She loved shopping and going on day trips with her kids.

She is survived by three daughters, Janis Bormann(Chip), Rhetta Ogea, Cindy Anderson(David), a son, Elliott Ogea all of Sulphur; grandchildren, Daryl Bormann, Damon, Dwayne, and David Thibodeaux, Morgan LeBlanc, Christy Johns, and Lindsay Ogea; eleven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harrison Ogea, her parents, five sisters, and six brothers.

Graveside service will be held 11 a.m. in Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss. Service will be led by Celebrant Jody Barrilleaux. Visitation will be from 9 - 10:30 a.m. at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations may be made to a charity of your choice in her memory.
