Betty and John have been wonderful New York City friends for almost twenty-five years. I and other mutual friends met them through John's work at NYU, and we spent many enjoyable evenings together over dinners at their cozy apartment or elsewhere. We would discuss the world, history, politics, education - so many things - and shared much humor (Jesuit jokes, mathematician jokes ...), and a very warm and heartfelt connection.
