Frances Louise Wilson, 74, of Elk Creek, Va., passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2018.
She was born in Mount Airy, N.C., to the late Ronald Lafayette Cockerham and Nancy Ella Holder Cockerham on Oct. 16, 1943.
Deeply loved and admired by those in her church and community, Louise is survived by her husband, Willie Wilson (Elk Creek, Va.); and her four sons and their spouses, Gary and Julie Wilson (Richmond, Va.), Mark and Missy Wilson (Elk Creek, Va.), Andy and Kim Wilson (Galax, Va.,) and Jeff and Rheda Wilson (Elk Creek, Va). Louise cherished her seven grandchildren, AJ, Ryan, Christian, Chelsea, Chasity, Chloe and Ella; as well as her four great-grandchildren, Madison, Hailey, Brantley and Mya; her three siblings and their spouses, Ronald and Ann Cockerham Jr. (Mount Airy, N.C.), Dennis and Alma Jean Cockerham (Stuart, Va.,) and Dianne Dixon (Denton, N.C.).
A public viewing will be held Tuesday, June 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Atkins Memorial United Methodist Church, 199 Atkins Lane, Fries, Va. 24330.
The funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Atkins Memorial United Methodist Church, 199 Atkins Lane, Fries, Va. 24330. The Rev. Lee Thomas and the Rev. Lee Houston will be officiating.
