Not sure what to say?

My wife received a notification that today is the anniversary of Mr. Bulter's passing. Unfortunately, I was deployed in Afghanistan when he passed and was unable to attend his funeral services. I met Mr. Butler at church, he was the first and most enthusiastic to greet my wife and myself. I immediately noticed his Silver Start lapel pin, being a Navy veteran myself. As a firefighter I found myself with plenty of time off and would visit Mr. Butler frequently. We became great friends. I...

Such a wonderful man, he will be so missed by myself and my husband. My husband regarded him as a grandfather figure and enjoyed visiting him often. As a fellow Navy man, they enjoyed many talks and I know my husband will miss him dearly. I pray for his family that they will find peace in knowing he is still shining in the hearts of all those he touched. God bless him and keep him.

The ceremony was beautiful today and was a true testament to Mr. Butler's life. Mr. Butler was a true blessing to our entire family. I know Papa would have loved to have been there. Fred was a real gentleman and he will certainly be missed. He has left an everlasting mark on all our lives. Love, Brad and Rainbow Moore

I remember Mr. Butler from one of the Honor Flight Upstate SC trips to Washington, DC which honored his World War II service. He was a special gentleman.
Prayers for his family and friends.

My thoughts and prayers are with you, Ruth Anne, and your whole family.

Fred Butler will be terribly missed by our family. He was "best friends" with our daughter who thought the world of him. Fred shared many stories with us and our children and shared many, many pictures of him growing up with our daughter. He always came up with a rhyme with his age... ex. 89 and I'm doing fine... Well, we came up with one for his 93. 93 and I'm set free. We love you Fred. We will miss you so much! Love, The Coopers (Chip, Heather, Tayler and Trey)

So wonderful to read all the good words about Fred. He has been my brother-in-law since 1946 and there couldn't have been a better one. We will all miss him terribly.

I am so grateful for the time spent with Fred in fellowship before Sunday School. He will be missed. My thoughts and prays go out to his family.
