Gabriel Albertelli, 19, of Plains Twp., passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Aug. 6, 2020.

Born at Nesbitt Memorial Hospital in Kingston, he was the son of Vincent Albertelli and Casinia Cooper, both of Plains Twp. Gabe was known for his piercing blue eyes, charming smile, and sarcastic sense of humor. He was an old soul since childhood, always seeking out his grandparents for guidance and wisdom. He gave what he had to his friends and family, appreciating people for who they were and the differences that made them special. All were loved equally.

Raised in the Hudson section of Plains Twp., Gabe graduated from Coughlin High School in 2019. After attending Millersville University as a pre-med major, he recently transferred to Luzerne County Community College to continue his education. His death was a tragedy marked with hope for the future: he passed listening to his favorite music, walking to meet a friend to rent an apartment together, and prepare for his future on the front lines of the medical profession.

Gabe was a devoted big brother and mentor to his siblings Joshua, 14, Isaiah, 10, Benjamin, 7, and Natalie, aged 6 months. He took pride in being their role model, caring after his family, and was ecstatic about having a new baby sister. He made his parents proud and he was loved by his siblings. He will be missed and appreciated for being part of our lives but never forgotten.

Surviving, in addition to his parents and siblings, are grandparents, Carol Cooper, Plains Twp.; Vince Albertelli, Keystone; aunt Michelle Albertelli, West Wyoming; and numerous relatives from Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

He was preceded in death by grandfather, Michael Cooper, Bear Creek; uncle, Michael Cooper, Plains Twp.; and grandmother, Rita Albertelli, Keystone.

Relatives and friends are invited to a vigil from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday in Ss. Peter and Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains Twp., with the Rev. John C. Lambert, pastor, officiating. The Funeral Mass will follow. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, restrictions have been put in place by the CDC and the Pennsylvania Department of Health. Those attending the visitation and/or Funeral Mass, please follow the practice of social distancing and masks are required at the church.

Arrangements are by Yeosock Funeral Home Funeral Home, Inc., 40 S. Main St., Plains Twp.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Scholarship Fund at Ss. Peter & Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains, PA 18705, in Gabriel's memory.
