The Austin family is so blessed to have had known Gene for as long as they did. I only had the opportunity to know him for a year. But to convey what a genuine man he was; in one year I knew him as my landlord, my neighbor, a counselor to the Bishop, and a genuine friend and man of magnitude. Gene helped me numerous times on common house maintainance problems, advice with church callings, and just about any "idea" I had he could help fine tune and encourage my enthusiasm. Gene was an awesome person. He and Tamra taught me many things in my life and I will always be grateful that they allowed me to share a part of their's. I and my children will miss him greatly. God Speed.
