Dear Fodge Family,
Many, many years ago as a teenager I worked with Gene at the Butcher Block. We would enjoy talking about the Cubs and life. I had a lot of respect for him. I am sorry for your loss.

I've never been so privileged to be the neighbor of a finer and more humble man.
Gene was a very kind man who would do anything for those he knew, and

arm and a heart of gold. His reliance on a Higher Power helped me to
persevere when I had given up on myself, and for that I will be forever
grateful.

I have many wonderful memories of Gene and his mother who worked at Memorial Hospital, and our many conversations about Gene with...

I played basketball against Gene in the 1950 sectional tourney. I played for Walketon, as I remember it the Central Bears were ranked no. 1 in the state. I also followed him in his baseball career. May God be with Gene and his family.
