If you are lucky in life, you meet one or two of absolute, towering integrity. Geoffrey Chandler was one of those. I worked for him as his PA for some years. I was there as he drafted the first, 1976, Statement of General Business Principles for Shell - a document far ahead of its time - and I know he had to justify every line to the then MDs.
