Not sure what to say?

I remember Mr. Barksdale as a happy pleasant man and always saw him at the furniture store on Main St when I would go to Haneys Drug store after high school...long long time ago. Was surprised when I saw him again in recant years and he looked and acted the same-wonderful. May you have many good memories to give you peace of mind. Judy Walton Lynch

I have such fond memories of Mr. Barksdale as I was growing up in Waynesboro. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

No doubt George is up in heaven stirring up the angels about "something" so his work on earth is not finished...just transported to a heavenly address. What a friend and jester he was among us. He will surely be missed and remains one of my favorite characters/memories of my good ol' Waynesboro days, Betty, Holly, David, you will remain in my prayers, Remember our creed - "in life and in death we belong to God." May George rest in peace and may your find "gentle...

So sorry to hear about George, he was such a bright personality in this city. It just made your day better when ever you met him,

To All of George's Family and Close Friends-

I graduated WHS the same year as Shane and knew George during my time at 1st Presbyterian during our high school years. He was always such a delight to be around, such a character. So full of energy and love. I know you all will hold him closely in your hearts always.

I am so sorry for your loss. I need to tell you everytime I saw him on the street I'd say hello and he'd always remind me he was the 'good' looking Barksdale. I will miss him

I will always remember George and his visits to Augusta Hospital Cardiac Rehab. When he finished, he would come to the nurses station at Neuro Rehab and we knew he wanted a half cup of coffee and graham crackers. He would laugh when we had it ready for him. He was a delightful man and will be greatly missed. So sorry for your loss

To all of George's family and friends...
What a delightful character George was! He knew how to make people smile, and he will be remembered with great fondness.

Betty and Family,
I was saddened to hear of the loss of George. He always made me laugh whenever he came to the School Board Office. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
