George Edward Deane

George Edward Deane, 64, of Madison, passed away while at work on Friday October 7, 2011, to be with the Lord.

He was born on April 29, 1947, to the late Lavinia and Carl Deane and lived his entire life in Madison. He was preceded in death by a sister, Harriet DeJarnette; and brother, Kenneth Deane.

George was a lifelong member of the Rose Park Methodist Church in Wolftown, Virginia. He was a wonderful husband, father and "grandpappy" who loved hunting and fishing. In his "spare time" George tended to his enormous watermelon patch that family and friends all benefited from. George is survived by his wife of 40 years, Dianna M. Deane; a son, Eugene Carl Deane and wife, Jennifer, of Bealeton; a grandson, Austin Deane; a sister, Sandra Fowler; and numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Preddy Funeral Home in Madison is in charge of arrangements.
