Not sure what to say?

Syracuse has never seen and will never see again a men's retail operation like Mr Dowley's kudos to him & Wells & Coverly

He was an awesome and very talented man

Peter,
Thanks so much for writing. I'm thinking I'll send your dad's calendar for 2012 to Bud Edwards since he was a good friend of his. I have to make another donation to the Skaneateles Library in memory of both your mom and dad.
All the best,
Judy Oplinger

Marnie, Peter, David, Bob and Susan,

My thoughts and sympathy are with you all. Pidge was a most happy constant in my life. I have fond memories of growing up with the Dowleys in the neighborhood and have been fortunate to have had the chance to catch up most summers in Skaneateles. I know how much Dad looked forward to the summer weekly men's lunch at the club. I will remember him always as a most gentle and kind man who always smiled. I feel most fortunate to have known him...

George will be sadly missed. I used to do secretarial work for him at MCM 20 years ago and for the last 4+ years he would drop off his dry cleaning at our store. He was such a great person and we had a lot in common, computers ("George, you have to save your work") and Mazatlan. A true gentleman. Please accept our deepest sympathy.

I am shocked to hear that George died last Friday, I only learned ot it today,Wed,the 12th January. When I saw him at lunch about a month ago he seemed in good health. He was a good friend and we usually had lunch together every month. He was a fine man and someone I could share things without concern. I will miss him greatly.

Dear Susan and Peter,

With deepest sympathy to you and your family.

To The Dowley Family, I was sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. I worked in the downtown, fairmount and Shoppingtown stores until the closing in 1993. Am now living in Fl. with my daughter.

Dear Dowley Family,

I was so surprised and shocked to see that Mr. Dowley had died. We had just corresponded via e-mail. He had received the 5 x 7 calendar I had sent him, and he had finished entering all your birthdays and anniversaries for 2011 on it.

I came back to Syracuse in the summer of 1972, and he gave me my first full-time job here working with him and the store's accountant, Peter Hujar, at Wells & Coverly. That piqued my interest in accounting and...
