Merrillville, Indiana

George L. Lousheff, age 80 of Merrillville, passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2009. He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and the men's Dart Ball League. George proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a retired carpenter from Hammond Local Union #599. George served as a Cub Scout Master and for over 30 years bowled on leagues at Hobart Lanes. He also enjoyed camping, particularly in the Warsaw, IN area. George took great pleasure watching his grandchildren grow up and will be deeply missed by his family. George is survived by his wife of 55 years Gwenneth of Merrillville; daughter, Sharon (David) Eng of Valparaiso; three grandchildren, David (Melanie) Eng, Breanna and Adam Eng; sister, Dolores Farley of Gary; 2 nieces, Pam (Glenn) Stephenson of Colorado and Debbie (John) Reiser of Merrillville; nephew, Robert Farley of Gary; and great-nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by son, Gregory Lousheff; brother, Christopher; and parents, Louis and Margaret Lousheff. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 9, 2009 at 11:00 AM directly at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 5375 Harrison Street, Merrillville, with Rev. Carole Poole officiating. Interment to follow at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, July 8th from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at Geisen Funeral Home, 7905 Broadway, Merrillville. Memorial donations may be made in George's name to Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 5375 Harrison Street, Merrillville. Hey Gwen and Sherry and family, I was sad to hear about George's passing..I always enjoyed doing ceramics and George was always so patient with me and my oopsie's...although I bet you were the one to fix them! Those of us who knew George at the Heart Failure Clinic will miss his smile and sweet disposition. He was a blessing to all who knew and loved him. God bless you and your family.
