Not sure what to say?

George will always hold a special place in my heart! He always had a smile on his face and was sure to put on mine and those around him. Such as wonderful man who certainly, alongside of his beautiful wife Libby, raised three wonderful sons. Sending love and prayers for comfort to all.

Mr. Poska was my absolute favorite teacher at Damascus. He was patient, kind and funny.. I've often thought about him over the years, especially when my children entered high school and had math teachers they really liked. He will be missed!

Dear Poska family,
Please accept our sincere condolences on the passing of George. We always enjoyed seeing him at St Peter's masses and functions. He was such a friendly and fun-loving guy, we know you will be comforted with many fond memories. May he rest in peace.

I'm so sorry for your loss. He was a wonderful teacher that touched so many students' lives. I had Mr. Poska as my homeroom teacher and for 2 years of math. He made class fun. He really developed a relationship with his students and made you want to attend his class. I will keep your family in my prayers.

Mr. Poska was a beloved patron of the Mount Airy Library. The books and librarians here will miss him so much.

Mr Poska was one of my favorite teachers not just from high school - but of all time. He had a way of teaching that made you want to learn - not because you had to pass the class - but I actually wanted to learn. His class was fun - he had a natural talent for teaching - and I’m so fortunate to have known him. I know he made an impact during his career for sure. I am sad to hear of his passing and am sending prayers and love to his family during this time of loss. He will be greatly missed...

Mr. Poska was an excellent encourager and teacher.

May God bless his family in this time of sorrow.

Poska, such a beloved and memorable man, even after 35 years since graduating from DHS. Everyone’s favorite funny, caring, patient and kind. My greatest memory of Poska is his football commentating to make every game even more fun. Being the head football stat was never easy, especially when you had to record every play and compute the yardage in your head. I shared this struggle with Poska one day in class, and wouldn’t you know that during the very next Saturday game, he began...

I am so very sorry to hear this. Mr. Poska was a great man, teacher and was always approachable. He was one of my absolute favorite teachers and I will cherish the fond memories I have of him.
