Mrs. Jessie Sallie Heatherly

Mrs. Jessie Sallie Heatherly, age 75, of Dalton, Georgia, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Saturday evening, July 9, 2011 at the Hospice Care Center of Chattanooga, surrounded by her loving family. Sallie was born January 10, 1936 in Union County, Tennessee, a daughter of the late Laska L. and Liza Clouse Farris. She was also preceded in death by her husband of forty-six years, Robert Heatherly on December 9, 1997, a grandson, Ricky Wayne Heatherly, brothers, Glenn Farris and Tom Farris, and sisters, Azalee Meredith and Ruth Hutson. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Janet Heatherly of Cohutta, GA, R. Wayne and Marcy Heatherly of Chatsworth, GA; grandchildren, Trish and Phil Hooper, Brandy Heatherly, Wayne Heatherly, Jr., Randy Heatherly, Lindsey Brown and Brittany Bowers; great-grandchildren, Felicia Hooper, Lydia Hooper and Nate Heatherly; brother, Elmer Farris of Laura, OH; special friend, Charles Laskey of Dayton, OH; several nieces and nephews. Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Sallie Heatherly will be held Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cross-Smith Funeral Home in LaFollette, Tennessee, with Reverend Raymond McCranie and Reverend Larry Wilson officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at the Bakers Forge Cemetery in LaFollette, Tennessee. The family will receive friends at Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday and also at the Cross-Smith Funeral Home in LaFollette, TN, after 12:00 noon Wednesday.
