GERALD (JERRY) THOMAS KIELY
1934 ˜ 2021
Servant of God, Beloved Husband, Father
and Grandfather

Jerry Kiely of Vancouver, WA, went to his reward on Jan. 22, 2021. He was born in New York City in 1934, the son of Irish immigrants.
He joined the United States Air Force and served in the Korean War as an air traffic controller. In July of 1956, Jerry met and married the love of his life Ann Brennan. Throughout their 63 years of marriage they enjoyed many adventures together, the largest endeavor raising eight children.
Jerry retired from a career Nuclear Power in 2008; the greatest joy of his retirement was spending time with his grandchildren. Jerry’s priorities in life were always God, family and country. These tenets reflected in every part of his daily life and were instilled in his children. Jerry’s devote faith saw him as a daily Mass attendee in his retirement.
He is survived by his sister, Maura (Ed); children, Eileen (Bernardo), James (Cheryl), Kyran, Ann, Thomas, Patrick (Heather), Gerald, and Maura (Ryan); and grandchildren, Candice, Michael, Kara, Kaitlyn, Katharine and Max. He loved deeply, had great wit, a kind heart and will be dearly missed.
A Latin funeral Mass will be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Portland, OR. Only immediate family will attend the funeral Mass. Burial will be at Willamette National Cemetery with full military honors at a later date.

Just reading the obituary makes me realize this amazing gentleman was exactly the kind of person that I would love, sight unseen. My deepest sympathy to the entire family. May Gerry rest in the loving arms of Our Lord and God, Jesus Christ. The Kiely's lived in a house (5 Mitchell St., Dungarvan) next door to the one in the picture. This is where Gerry's father and my mother,...
