SPRAKER, Geraldine West, of Richmond, died January 19, after a brief illness. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Paul Smith Spraker; her son, Paul Michael Spraker; daughter, Bridget Spraker Westmoreland and her husband, Michael; five grandchildren, Patrick Spraker and his wife, Holly, Anne Shultz and her husband, David, Molly Spraker and her fiancÂ‚, Jonathan Walker, Sarah Baird and her husband, Jeff, William Norfleet; great-granddaughter, Ruthie Baird. She is also survived by three sisters, Kay Beavers, Shelby Matney and her husband, Don, and Judith Abernethy and her husband, Billy; one sister-in-law, Betty West; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Hazel West; brother, Raymond A. West; brother-in-law, Stuart A. Beavers; daughter-in-law, Joan Norfleet Spraker; and nephew, Christopher Coxton. She was a registered nurse having graduated from Roanoke Memorial Hospital in 1947 and participating in the U.S. Nurse Cadet Corps. She was a head nurse at Richmond Memorial Hospital for 19 years until her retirement in 1979. In accordance with her wishes there will be a private graveside service for family members only.
